Objective-C is quite popular
Objective-C now is on 11 position on TIOBE community index.
The TIOBE Programming Community index gives an indication of the popularity of programming languages. The index is updated once a month. The ratings are based on the number of skilled engineers world-wide, courses and third party vendors. The popular search engines Google, MSN, Yahoo!, Wikipedia and YouTube are used to calculate the ratings. Observe that the TIOBE index is not about the best programming language or the language in which most lines of code have been written.

IPhone developer community grow very fast. When I start interested in it I wondered how many information already exist in web. At the momement I have no expiriece in business application developing for iPhone. For me the game developing was a secrete. iPhone is greate platfrom to start doing this.
Surfing in web I found cocos2d framework for iPhone. This is platform allow you create 2D graphical applications using OpenGL. Basicly all community create game son this platform. Not so fare appears visual books. One of positive moments coco2d-iphone has integration with physic engines. Actually this is all what you need start developing 2D games. 3D game development can take more time and need more experience. Not a secrete what iPhone platform has memory limitation and for game development you should always keep this in mind.
For last 6 month Cocos2d-iphone community increased. They are updated very often. Very fast added iPad support. New releases appears faster. Documentation always keep updated. Web-geeks create course for cocos2d-iphone. Rod Strougo writing cocos2d book. You can find some tips in cocos2d book homepage. Also take a look at his presentation.
